Switzerland. The land beneath the Alps. Here we come to explore thee…
First day, we skimmed through the history of St Michael’s college and had a guided tour of the city of Freiburg. Then we went to the city of Bern and saw the old clock tower, the bears, the Swiss Parliament and Swiss Bank and stood on top of tones of gold bars! We then went to the Museum of Communication and the day after that, we visited Luzern and went up to Rigi. It was really cold out there, something like -3 degree Celsius.
The day that followed was a great day for us. I had never imagined that such a day would come. We went to the UN Headquarters in Geneva and saw the Human Rights Council room and the hall where decisions on armaments are taken .We also saw the block of the “League of Nations”.
Then in the weekend we had a “Family Day” when we went to Affaultan village and to the cheese factory where they make Emmentaller AOP and Raclette. Then we went to the Matterhorn Mountains. The day after that we went to Aletsch glacier and it was really nice to walk through the forest. Then the next day, we went for ice skating and the day after that to the chocolate factory and Groupe-e .We also went to Saidef, the waste recycling centre. It was time already to say “Goodbye” to Switzerland. But it is a promise that we will never forget this trip. Love you, Switzerland…
